During summer, I take my children to the beach at 6 AM and leave by 9, so I can avoid the morning "viewers". These viewers are the new imports from India ( 20 to 30 years old), out to watch free display of female skin. They come in groups of 4 to 6, stand around wearing their pants and shirts and look at the beach goers. I get the wrong end of the stick because I am Indian and am not supposed to expose my skin, so even if they are ogling at the white woman, they are also condemning me. This happens because the way Indian society views women..if a woman wears anything out of the ordinary..it is construed as she is modern/flirt/fast..a traditional indian woman covers her body..so long as this mentality is the thriving force behind the Indian culture, there will never be any safety for woman in India.
