Liquor Policy

All of a sudden Kerala Government changed its stand in the liquor policy. All along people were arguing for stopping new bars and for taking steps to reduce liquor consumption in the State but they ignored it ruthlessly.Thousands of crores of rupees are spent on liquor by the Keralites every year  and people are distressed about the attitude of authorities in promoting liquor sale.

Now see how much love they have for people and are concerned about their health and the danger of liquor consumption.

Everybody knows it is because of the impending bye election. It once again shows that people’s voice matters only during elections. Here the demand for Right to Call back becomes necessary. So people should utilise this opportunity and get assurance that no more bars and liquor shops allowed in their tenure and restrict timings to 8 hours a day 11 am to 3 and 7 pm to 11.

Restricting 8 hours a day for the peopole is a welcome suggestion as portrayed by the author. But it should be starting from 1PM to 9PM or 12 Noon to 8 PM. Otherwise, people will take a break and again take the liquor more vigorously.
